In this instructor led training for a fictional extermination company, new and experienced sales reps will hone their skills using evidence-supported instructional techniques.

Challenge

A majority of sales reps at NYC Pest Solutions (a fictional extermination company) are not reaching their potential. New sales reps are slow to gain the skills needed to effectively close calls.

Solution

An ILT using evidence-based instructional methods giving sales reps realistic, challenging scenarios to practice specific types of calls that present difficulties and tools to overcome these challenges.

Evaluation

  • During the scenarios, learners will be informally assessed on their performance in the scenarios.
  • After training, managers will sample calls to evaluate the extent that sales reps are applying the company sales method.  In the month after training, new hires will use the 5 stages of a successful sales call in at least 70% or sampled calls.  In the month after training, experienced reps will use the 5 stages of a successful sales call in at least 90% of sampled calls.
  • Rates at which sales calls are successfully closed will be compared before and after training for individual experienced sales reps.  For new hires, success rates will be compared to historical data for new hires.
